Strategic Collaboration Between LiuGong and PT Samudera Mulia Abadi (SMA):Implementation of Full Maintenance Contract (FMC)

PT LiuGong Machinery Indonesia (LiuGong) officially launched the Full Maintenance Contract (FMC) service in partnership with PT Samudera Mulia Abadi (SMA), reinforcing LiuGong’s commitment to supporting customer productivity and operational efficiency in the mining sector.

Through this collaboration, LiuGong will manage all maintenance aspects of SMA’s 64 LiuGong dump trucks operating across three sites: Bakan, Toka Tindung, and Weda. The service covers routine maintenance, spare parts supply, dedicated mechanics, and other supporting facilities. The partnership will run for three years, effective from October 7, 2025.

“Through this project, we aim to ensure better maintenance to boost equipment productivity and achieve the physical availability targets we have committed to SMA. This will enable SMA to meet their production goals for years to come,” said LiuGong’s Director of Aftersales, Sahdan Fikri.

The FMC program also provides SMA with greater cost predictability. “With FMC, customers no longer need to worry about maintenance expenses or resource and facility investments. Everything is included in the contract, allowing issues to be resolved immediately and ensuring the units remain in optimal condition,” Sahdan added.

Sahdan stated that the FMC program is one of the company’s innovations to provide an integrated maintenance management solution for mining contractors using LiuGong products. The company plans to expand this program to more customers, particularly in the mining industry.

Budi S.W., Supervisor of Maintenance Planner at SMA’s Bakan site, expressed that the FMC project has been highly beneficial. The program helps the company optimize maintenance of their LiuGong DW90 dump trucks, which have been operating in the area for two years. “To maintain performance, we must ensure optimal maintenance. That is why we entrusted these units to LiuGong through the Full Maintenance Contract,” he said. Budi also noted that the FMC program has enabled the company to reduce maintenance costs.

Ignatius Watania, Project Manager at SMA’s Toka Tindung site, praised the effectiveness of the FMC program. After more than a month of implementation, the company has observed strong equipment performance. “We have been able to maintain 95–97 percent physical availability,” he said. This level of performance ensures stable and optimal production, supporting the achievement of production targets.
